Migrating to Kustom Checkout from Klarna Checkout

Kustom Checkout replaces Klarna Checkout (KCO) as the supported integration endpoint. Kustom provides its own API URLs and merchant credentials, which must be configured in Norce Checkout Admin.

According to Kustom's official documentation, Klarna’s live API (https://api.klarna.com/) will remain functional during a transitional period. However, merchants using Norce Checkout are advised to update their configuration to Kustom’s new endpoints to ensure future compatibility.

This guide describes how to update your configuration in Norce Checkout Admin. Norce Checkout continues to use the same adapter component — only a configuration update is required.


Step-by-step: Switch to Kustom

1. Update API URLs

2. Update Configuration in Norce Checkout

  1. Log in to Norce Checkout Admin
  2. Navigate to: Configuration → Kustom/Klarna
  3. Update:
    • API base URL to https://api.kustom.co
    • Your merchant credentials as provided by Kustom

This is a configuration update only. Norce Checkout continues to use the same adapter component.

3. Important Notes

  • Ensure all API credentials and callback URLs are correctly updated.
  • No UI or code changes are required in Norce Checkout.
  • Orders will continue to be handled through Norce Checkout.

Test in Playground

Before updating production, perform full end-to-end tests in the Playground environment:

  • Validate the Kustom Checkout flow
  • Confirm that payments are processed correctly via Kustom
