Awardit Voucher Adapter

Overview

The Awardit Adapter integrates Awardit gift cards and loyalty rewards with Norce Checkout, enabling merchants to accept Awardit vouchers as a payment method during checkout. Unlike traditional payment service providers, the Awardit Adapter handles voucher-based payments where customers redeem gift card balances to cover part or all of their order total.

This adapter is part of Norce Checkout (NCO) and manages the complete gift card payment lifecycle from initial card validation through final redemption, including balance checks, authorization, and commitment of funds.

Selling Awardit Gift Cards

The Awardit Adapter can sell (issue) Awardit gift cards in addition to redeeming them as payment. When enabled, a gift card product in the Norce Checkout cart is issued as a new Awardit gift card through the Awardit mvalue v2 API when the order reaches Completed, and the issued card details (cardId, cardCode, templateId, distribution, validThru, and cardPin when the template requires a PIN) are stored on the cart item attributes. Distribution to the recipient is done by Awardit via email or SMS, or left to the merchant (external distribution), depending on the Awardit template and optional cart item attributes.

Selling requires Awardit mvalue v2 OAuth2 credentials (apiSettings.v2), an issueGiftCard configuration mapping cart item skus or the GiftCard product type to Awardit template ids, and a call to POST /api/checkout/v1/orders/{order_id}/gift-card/enable-sell for each order while it is in Checkout. Gift card items cannot be paid with a voucher payment on the same order. Configuration and flow details are described in the Awardit Adapter Developer Guide.

Limitations:

  • Partial capture is not supported (gift cards are redeemed in full for the covered amount)
  • Partial refund is not supported
  • Authorization expires after 24 hours
  • Card currency must match order currency
  • Only redeemOnOrderCompleted capture mode is currently supported
